Watch Now: Copywriting — a Financially Valuable Skill

Watch Video

Copywriting can transform your life and earning potential in more ways than most aspiring writers realize. In today’s Monday Morning Jumpstart, AWAI’s director of training, Jade Trueblood, sits down with Rebecca Matter, president of AWAI, to explore the wide variety of opportunities the skill of copywriting can bring.

While many view copywriting as a simple transaction — writing marketing materials in exchange for payment — Rebecca and Jade show why that’s only one aspect of copywriting before diving into even bigger opportunities.

In this episode, you'll discover …

  • how copywriting can set you up to make money in a variety of ways … including writing businesses that don’t require you to work with clients.
  • the true value of persuasion … and why understanding copywriting can make you a more effective entrepreneur and employee, and even improve your personal life.
  • how to create profitable assets that could make you money now and then again if you decide to sell them in the future.
  • real-world examples … From negotiating for what you want at work to raising awareness for community initiatives, see how copywriting is a powerful tool for success in all areas of life.

If you’re looking to take control of your future, create a life of purpose, and build a financially valuable skill that will serve you for years to come, this episode is a game changer.

Join us every Monday morning for a boost of writing motivation, plus tips and strategies to make sure you’re staying on track and moving toward your goals all year.

  1. This is not exactly "new" news!
AWAI already has a document that i downloaded that explains "all the other benefits of being a copywriter." (Sorry, I don't remember the name.)
However, I DO appreciate being reminded!
I've been using the concept in my everyday life.
However, your examples helped me home up with a new idea.
So, THANK YOU, Rebecca and Jade!
You've stirred up my creativity, and I'll put it to work again. Maybe this time I'll actually make money with it.

  2. New now? No. But I learned all of this from AWAI. Before 2020, I was not familiar with how to copywrite, market, or write persuasively. Money-making websites, info products, glicken, assets...all of this was new to me.

In '21 & '22, clients paid me well, $2K to $4k per project.

I pivoted to the Zero-client/clientless life. It has not YET produced that level of income.

But this episode encouraged me to stay focused, learn, & do the work.

I thrive on positive energy, thanks Rebecca & Jade.

  3. Good morning ladies !

I just finished watching your video - I never like or enjoying watching videos !

    But I did yours !

Since I was in the 3rd grade , after I realized I had just finished reading 10 books I had checked out from the school library - I have considered myself to be a writer .
    Now I am 73 .
I have never been paid for writing (in the traditional sense) but your video is an inspiration to continue my pursuit to finally be a paid writer.
    So we will see .
I know I'm in the right place !
Thanx , and have a Wonderful Day !

  4. Your Monday Morning Jump Start on Copywriting is very motivational and a reminder that I really must get back to my studies from programs I have already purchased from AWAI to start my career.
A lot of family matters, such as elderly members needing my care, have distracted me from actively pursuing my dreams. I know that I absolutely must prioritize time for myself to reach my goals.
My advice to anyone thinking about AWAI training -- go ahead and do it. It is the best training you will ever get. What I have learned so far has far outsourced anything else I have ever been privy to find.
My advice to anyone thinking about taking AWAI training -- go ahead and do it.

  5. As a yet to be copywriter, I particularly appreciated Rebecca's points on how there a great many opportunities available to one who possessed copywriting skills, how she herself has learned and relearned 17 times and her also mentioning a significant aspect of her personal life, while still keeping details private.

  6. Thank you, Ms. Trueblood and Ms. Matter for the review of opportunities available in your training programs. I am self-assured that in my own timing and Grace, the correct one will come.

  8. Still have to get that first client, whether for proofreading, copywriting, or translating. (Yes, I am a big fan of the "Oxford comma". However, I do wonder why your program, of all places, flags the word "copywriting" as misspelled.)

  9. Jade, you lived through Helene? OMG.

I still wish I'd known about AWAI long ago! But I don't dwell. I know now!

It's AWESOME to know there are SO many opportunities/projects to make money. Also a little DAUNTING! (But I don't know if I'm ready to use AI!)

  10. We would love to do some sub-contracting for writers who are so busy they can’t keep up. We don’t really want to build a big business during retrial years but would like to earn some extra cash. Clearly, AWAI has the best training going. Thank you.

  11. Hi! Thank you Rebecca and Jade. I thought that video was very inspiring, just what I needed. A year ago I hadn't heard the term Copywriter.Soo much to learn.Soo many options.Have taken B2B with Steve and Lisa, Longevity with Brian and Jade, now AI Copywriting Intensive with "G" and Jade.So far, just a fly on the wall.I'm starting to be more familiar with the knowledge, becoming fun.

  12. The discussion was very helpful, particularly the examples of various ways the skill itself can "show up" in our lives as a tool to use. It is truly valuable, and the diversity of those uses is fun to consider.

  13. It's true, I find myself applying the persuasive purpose of writing in everything I do now.

I helped out in a community garden and mentioned to the person in charge (it was just us two, no other volunteers showed up) how the notice in the library could be improved to get more people to come out to help, by showing the benefits, from teaching kids about gardening to growing food for your family's dinner table and closing with a strong Call to Action to text the guy in charge if they were interested.

I never would have done that before studying the AWAI copywriting course.

  14. I am learning so much and loving it. It is also good for me, even if it seems repetitive, because that just enhances the learning process.

  15. Thanks for the article.

    Very interesting.

  16. Thank you, Jade and Rebecca, for helping me refocus and reminding me how valuable copywriting skills are. There are so many applications and opportunities with the persuasive writing you teach at AWAI.

    Guest (Mike Crowe)

  17. This was inspirational about how large the copy world is, even in your own slice of life, and how you can benefit others in it in even small ways.
